Graduation Day is Set!

• Wednesday, June 17, 2026
• Newport High School (graduates arrive at 8:15 AM, doors open for families at 8:30AM, ceremony begins at 9:00AM)
• Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion,
  • University of Washington, Seattle
  • 3870 Montlake Blvd NE, Seattle, WA 98105

• Guests should plan on a 90-minute graduation ceremony.
• Each family will be provided 10 tickets per graduate. Children under 2 years of age do not require a ticket. Tickets information is noted above.  
• Look for parking and arrival information on the University of Washington webpages.
• BSD will comply with any safety and security requirements in place at the venue at the time of graduation.
• University of Washington uses many common restrictions on what materials can be brought to the Arena.

 

• As a reminder, Alaska Airlines Arena enforces a clear bag policy. Any non-compliant bags must be checked at the UW Bag Check for a $15 fee. Balloons may also be checked for $5 per bundle. Please refer to the location of the Husky Bag Check in the Harshman Lobby.
• The University of Washington has partnered with Evolv Technologies as the “Official Fan Screening Partner of UW Athletics.” All guests attending a UW graduation ceremony at Husky Stadium or Alaska Airlines Arena will be security screened by our Evolv Express® systems. Walk through the system at your natural pace and keep personal items in your pockets and approved bags unless directed to do so – then immediately proceed to ticket scanning. Gate attendants will indicate if additional screening is required. The approved items list remains in effect.

• Weapons detection will be in place at the loading dock and both the NW and SW entrances for all graduates and guests. For additional information, please visit: https://evolv.com/concealed-weapons-detection/express/ 

ALERT—All seniors participating in commencement will need 4 items:

Cap, Tassel, Gown, & Stole, purchase at Jostens.com.  

 

Those students who earned honor, ISA, MDL cords and AP capes may purchase them on Touchbase . These items are optional and are not fines. Once purchased, pick up from the accountants office here at Newport High School directly. Proof of purchase required. 

 

**Newport High School has a limited amount of gowns and caps for loan. If you are in need, please contact Wendy Woodard, Office Manager.

Graduation Tickets

• Monday, June 15, 2026 - Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal 12:10 - 1:00p.m.

 

• Senior Sunset, June 15, 2026 - 8:00 - 9:15p.m. - for all seniors on the football field with snacks, photos, games, and sunset. If all fines are cleared and you have attended the graduation rehearsal you CAN pick up graduation tickets at the sunset. Otherwise, tickets will be picked up on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

 

• Tuesday, June 16, 2026 - Graduation Ticket Distribution - 1:30 - 3:30p.m. - If all fines are cleared and you attended the graduation rehearsal, you CAN pick up graduation tickets in the SOUTH COMMONS.
