Calendar Update: Due to weather and other school closure events, June 17 is last day of classes for students graduating June 18, 2025.
Congratulations Class of 2025!
Your student and your family have reached the last year of high school, ending with your Graduation Ceremony in June.
- Use these pages throughout the year to help with the many decisions and plans you will make.
- Check back often for updates as events and plans take shape.
- As details for each calendar entry take shape, you’ll see a blue link appear. It will lead to specific information.
- Families also will receive email and text reminders. Students will receive instructions and messages through Teams and school email.

Graduation Day is Set
- Wednesday, June 18, 2025
- 7:30 PM- Newport High School (graduates arrive @ 6:45 PM, doors open for families @7:00 PM)
- Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion,
- University of Washington, Seattle
- 3870 Montlake Blvd NE, Seattle, WA 98105
- Guests should plan on a 90-minute graduation ceremony.
- Each family will be provided 10 tickets per graduate. Children under 2 years of age do not require a ticket. Tickets will be distributed to graduates following completion of the mandatory graduation rehearsal in June 2025.
- Parking and arrival instructions will be communicated to families in advance through e-mail and BSD website updates.
- BSD will comply with any safety and security requirements in place at the venue at the time of graduation.
ALERT—All seniors participating in commencement will need 4 items:
Cap, Tassel, Gown, & Stole, available at Jostens.com
**Newport High School has a limited amount of gowns and caps for loan. If you are in need, please contact Wendy Woodard, Office Manager.

Class of 2025 Honor cord, ISA cord, and/or an AP Cape are available now for purchase in your Student Touchbase account.

Each year our senior class officers create a video with multiple photos of EVERY student. We share this video during our graduation ceremony at the UW.
We rely on families to submit photos of their students.

A committee of senior parents works for a full year to bring together Grad Knight, a safe-celebration party and last chance for the senior class to gather together, sign yearbooks, share memories, celebrate, play games and enjoy delicious foods.
The committee recently sent an update. And, there are lots of details for our junior, sophomore, and even freshmen families to learn about this important tradition.

Eligibility:
- AP Capes are reserved for grads who have earned AP Scholar awards from The College Board. Those eligible will have taken and passed at least three AP exams by the end of their junior year.
- Honor Cords are reserved for grads who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher by the end of 1st semester for this school year (senior year).
