What’s New in BSD: Enhancing Support, Access and Student Success in 25-26
In the 2025-2026 school year, the Bellevue School District will be introducing a number of updates and initiatives aimed at improving family engagement, supporting student success, and enhancing district-wide operations. Families are encouraged to learn more about the changes and innovations in preparation for the new year.
Welcome Center Grand Opening
On September 26, 2025, BSD will celebrate the grand opening of its Welcome Center! This event marks an important milestone in our efforts to develop human-centered systems and create a welcoming, supportive space for our community. The Welcome Center is designed to embrace families and students as they enter the district, fostering a sense of belonging and connection while helping with navigating the school system. In addition, the Welcome Center will serve as a central location to connect families to the services, supports and resources available through various district departments and community partners.

Updated Grading Practices
At the June 5 School Board Meeting, the Grading Practices Team shared a status report on its work over the course of the 2024-2025 school year. The charge of the team was to develop guidance for educators for assigning grades that accurately communicate student learning. The work of the Grading Practices Team builds on previous district-wide work on grading over the past several years.
The guidance is in the form of a draft Secondary Grading Practices Staff Handbook (view the handbook in Spanish and Simplified Chinese) and is intended to support educators by establishing best practices for grading based on research and literature. For the 2025-2026 school year, the plan is to share the handbook with educators and engage in professional learning. This will serve as a training year in tandem with adoption of the new Danielson framework, which contains shifts in the areas of assessment and grading. We recognize that this year will serve to additionally clarify our practices, work through challenges with implementation, and provide support to educators in the form of time and training.

Bell Time Adjustments
The district’s spending reduction plan impacts every aspect of our district. The spending plan, as approved by the School Board at the March 13, 2025, board meeting includes $200,000 in reductions as a result of adjusted bell times beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.

Stopfinder Transportation App Launching in Summer 2025
The Bellevue School District will retire the Edulog Parent Portal app at the end of the 2024–2025 school year. A new school transportation app, Stopfinder, will launch for the 2025–2026 school year. This free family app will allow families to view their students’ assigned bus stops, access route details, and receive transportation notifications.
Learn more about the switch to Stopfinder.
New School Locator
With the retirement of the Edulog transportation app, the district will also be retiring Edulog’s Online School Finder, which helps users find their school and bus route eligibility. This application will be replaced by a different boundary mapping/school locator service provided by Flo Analytics starting in September. More information will be shared on bsd405.org as it becomes available.
BSD Mobile App to Launch This Fall
BSD is excited to announce the upcoming launch of its new mobile app, designed to keep families, students and staff connected and informed. The app is a continuation of the 2024 website redesign project (funded by the Technology Projects Levy) and offers quick access to school and district news and events, and important resources like meal menus, staff directories, bus routes, and more — all in one convenient place. The app will offer language translations and allows for customized notifications based on user preferences. The app will be available for download in the App Store and Google Play by the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
SchooLinks to Replace Naviance – Rollout Begins in 25-26 School Year
Washington state has adopted SchooLinks as the universal solution to fulfill the statewide High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) requirements for students.
The state is providing many SchooLinks features at no cost to BSD. BSD will transition from our Naviance platform to SchooLinks following this timeline:
- In 2025-2026, BSD students in grades 6-11 will have access to SchooLinks to being using the HSBP functionality, as well as the college and career modules.
- BSD 2026 graduates will continue to use our current platform, Naviance, their senior year in order to provide a seamless college application experience.
- All BSD grades 6-12 will use SchooLinks for the HSBP and college application process in the 2026-2027 school year.
Digital Portfolios to be Offered for All Students
In the 2025-2026 school year, as stated in our Strategic Plan, BSD made a goal to "Pursue innovative and equitable ways for students to demonstrate learning, understanding, achievement and mastery."
BSD is fulfilling this goal for students PreK-12 and beyond in the following ways:
- All PreK-5 students will have access this fall to begin to learn to utilize Seesaw/Elementary Learning Experience Platform where they will be able to digitally share their work in class, in the school, and with their families.
- This fall, all students in grades 6-12 students will have access and begin to develop their own digital portfolio via SchooLinks.
- All BSD Graduates starting in 2026 will have continual access to their historical SchooLinks digital portfolio as long as it is active.
SAT School-Day Testing
During this time of tight budgets, BSD is still able to offer SAT school-day testing. However, students testing will register in advance via Intouch and pay a $52 SAT test fee to register. Students and families can apply for a fee waiver, following the district’s scholarship and fee waiver process.
